Affiliations

As a scholar and media professional, I stay up to date on research and industry developments by being involved in several specialized associations and attending their yearly conventions and conferences. Since Spring 2012, I serve as the faculty adviser of the student-run TV station ISUtv.

As part of my academic service activities, I serve as the research co-chair of the Newspaper and Online News Division of the Association of Educators in Journalism and Mass Communication (AEJMC). I aso serve on the Awards Committee of the American Journalism Historians Association (AJHA) and the Research Grant Committee of the Broadcast Education Association (BEA). I joined the Internal Review Board of Iowa State University's Archive of Women's Political Communication in Spring 2012.
